Volcanic Dice
A volcano on Dice Island has just erupted. Can you make it to the boat? The island reshapes constantly — the first player to escape wins. Warning: you cannot touch the lava.
Choose the best die and throw it
Volcanic Dice is played on a map you build yourself, out of 46 “deconstructed dice” tiles — each one a single die face, spread across the table. The island can be big or small, drenched in lava or mostly safe, symmetric or chaotic: no two games use the same map twice.
On your turn you either bank a tile for later or spend one from your supply: roll the custom die, place the tile back on the board, then move your meeple that many steps. Land in sand and you're stuck for a turn. Land in lava and you die — respawning back at the volcano, but with two free tiles as compensation. Reach the boat first and you win.
How a turn works
Pick one of the deconstructed dice from the board and add it to your supply — or spend one you already hold.
Roll the custom die. The symbol tells you how many steps to move — then place your tile back on the map before you take a single step.
Walk the exact number of steps, in any direction, avoiding lava. First to land on the boat tile wins.
Not just a race
An optional Will Tracker expansion lets you spend banked “will” on special actions — a jetpack over lava, a knife for a rival meeple, a health pack to cheat death. Prefer a different shape of game entirely? Play 2v2 or 3v3 team survival, or a co-op Survivor mode where the whole table shares one meeple and races the clock.
