Yes. No. And a story worth discovering.

The name comes from Russian: da (yes), net (no), and kas, a diminutive suffix. Danetkas is a real game you can play right now, free, at app.danetkas.com — one of you plays Master, one plays Investigator, piecing together a strange true story from classical music history using nothing but closed questions.

A companion podcast goes even deeper: host Francisco Chaves tells the full story behind each riddle — a composer who was declared dead before the war even started, or a boy who became a decorated hero by accident. The stories are, in his words, “interesting, weird, and unexpected.”

Two ways to play

1
Be the Master

You already know the answer. Guide your friends toward the truth — without ever saying more than yes or no.

2
Be the Investigator

Ask closed questions, narrow down the possibilities, and try to reconstruct a true story before anyone else does.
